Artist Statement

Picture
My work explores the tension between damage and wonder. I am interested in landscapes where transformation is most visible: the rapid addition of data centers, agricultural grids, suburban spread, deforestation, salt flats, and places marked by sudden disruption or slow accumulation. These environments hold contradiction. They are scarred and altered, but also visually powerful, layered, and capable of regeneration. Through pattern, form, and material process, I try to hold both truths at once: the urgency of what has been harmed and the beauty that remains.
As a printmaker and sculptural artist, I use repetition, accumulation, and structure to echo the systems embedded in the land. Rows, cuts, grids, folds, and layered surfaces become ways of thinking about labor, memory, erosion, care, and repair. My work asks viewers to slow down and look again—to recognize overlooked details, to find beauty in what is often dismissed or damaged, and to consider the possibility of rebirth within a changing landscape.
